Transforming Statement Pieces

Welcome back everyone and hope you all are doing well. Also hoping you had a blessed and merry Christmas with your loved ones! This year I'm more than fortunate to have my parents visit me in Bangkok for the holiday season as I have missed them both so much and I'm super thankful to be spending quality time with them. With that said, forgive me for putting this post up a day late as I have been busy taking them around the city and squeezing in all the time I can get with them on their short trip. Moving on to the blog, today's outfit is for a perfect date, ladies night out, or a fancy dinner with your friends. If you are looking at my outfit and immediately thinking about Beyonce's Grammy 2013 outfit, then yes this is the one :) You may have already realized my love for jumpsuits and the reason why I adore them is very simple: they're comfortable to sport and can easily be transformed from a day to a night outfit. This jumpsuit has been paired with open-toe sandals, a statement necklace, a pair of simple black-gold earrings, and my MK watch. While you may think of jumpsuits as a casual piece, the right one can actually be dressy. One tip would be to ditch your flats for heels as I have done here to elongate your legs and you can also throw in a blazer to have an office-ready look. If you have never tried on a jumpsuit before and would like to do so, I would suggest getting a black one to be on the safe side just to test the waters. Once you feel confident, you can then move on to more daring patterns and different shades. Whatever you do, it's always advised to dress according to your body type and remember to always carry yourself with a big smile of confidence! Till we meet again next week! Have a blessed week and God bless you for the remainder of this year. Hope you have a great new year's celebration and remember that there is always something to be thankful about!

Dashiki Fever

Welcome back to my world and hope you're having a good week so far. Getting straight to things; this week's post features a gift given to me on my engagement party from a friend of mine. This dashiki dress is custom made and features some tribal prints on a baby blue base. For those that do not know, a dashiki is a loose-fitting, pullover shirt or dress usually sewn from colorful African-inspired patterns or fabric. Considering how vibrant and busy the prints and colors of the apparel is, opt for plain pieces while combining it. What's really fun about this apparel is the fact that it can be dressed up or down. Worn by the young and old, the Dashiki dress is sure to make you look stylish and comfy. Its print is in a wide range of designs, from skirts, dresses, matching pieces, loose fits, and loads of other styles. The most important thing is to have fun with wearing a lot of colors in our one fit. You can see that this dress has been paired with my brown pointed stilettos which I rcently got for a great deal and a leaf-shaped gold necklace. Because the outfit already has a lot going on, I chose to not over accessorize and keep it simple. You can try styling these types of fabric and your own personal designs in any way possible. Make sure you're comfortable in it and that you wear the dress instead of letting it wear you. Have a good week ahead and see you soon! God bless you all!

Color Blocking Peplum Tops

Thank you for always returning to support my blog! Hope you had a blessed Sunday and a restful weekend. I have been sick for the past week or so, that's why I have been mostly indoors snuggled to practically every warm thing I own in this humid city of Bangkok. But nontheless, I bring you a brand new post as promised every week and I appreciate the love that you guys show towards my work through the comments and likes. Today's outfit is a combination of a light yellow top (slightly falling in the beige category) and a mint green bodycon skirt. I've done very basic color blocking here and added in my nude pumps to keep the look neutralized. Also, because the top has a deep v-cut, I chose to add in a simple gold and pearl necklace chain along with a white and gold wristwatch to keep it classy. To show the deep cut in the back, my hair is done in a tight bun so that the top's design is well seen. A lot of people will probably tell you that peplum tops are out of fashion but I'll agree to disagree. As long as you can pair it and pull it off with a decent bottom, you can still rock it feeling confident. For more of a casual vibe, try it with a light wash pair of jeans. If you would like to go for a more formal look, try wearing the top with cropped pants and perhaps a stylish belt to add a little oomph. You can sport a peplum tops in more ways than one and the bodycon skirt which I'm wearing can also be styled with a button down shirt as per your style. Either way you do it, make sure you rock it and walk out the house feeling comfortable and confident. Please feel free to drop a comment below for any other suggestions, comments, or if you would like to see me try on a particular style. Till we meet again next week!

Tee-Shirt Dresses

Happy Sunday lovely people and welcome back to the blog. Thank you for your continuous support and love shown each week and please keep it coming because I'm very appreciative of it! As for me, I am enjoying my three day weekend since Thailand is offering a substitution of a national holiday tomorrow. For those of you who aren't getting a three-day weekend, I hope you have rested enough today and are prepped for the week's new challenges. Moving on to today's post, I am seen sporting a tee-shirt dress to give of a comfortable and relaxed look. I feel outfits like these are perfect for the humid Bangkok weather and are so easy to move around in. What's a tee-shirt dress you may ask? It's exactly what it sounds like: a shirt that is long enough to be considered a dress. A typical tee-shirt dress looks like a long button-down shirt or an over-sized shirt. that can be customized your way. I have paired mine with a casual pair of slip-on sneakers in which you can match it this way or with laced sneakers, running shoes, or your usual vans/converse shoes. You can also choose to cinch your waist by adding a thin belt if it's a button-down shirt or leave it loose like I have done for a simpler look. As you may have noticed, I didn't accessorize much with this outfit as I normally do with my other ones and instead chose to go with a cute hat and a pop of hot pink lipstick. I chose this particular pink shade to add a little pop to an all-black outfit and yet look stylish. I encourage you try a tee-shirt dress next time you look at it in the mall or market and believe me, you'll soon see how easy it is to wear and how flattering it looks. Have a good week ahead and see you all next Sunday!
